To advance gender equity in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 糖心短视频app (CvSU), through its Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC), in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (OVPRE), successfully conducted the 9th Gender and Development (GAD) Research Conference with the theme 鈥淔uture-Forward Gender Equity: Shaping Opportunities and Challenges Together鈥 on September 3, 2024, at the International Convention (ICON) Center, CvSU, Indang, Cavite as part of the Futures Thinking Week Research Symposium.
The event commenced with an opening message by Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, Vice President for Research and Extension. Dr. Talactac extended his gratitude to the university leadership, OVPRE heads, discussants, and participants. He expressed hope for a productive day despite the disruptions caused by the typhoon.
University President, Dr. Hernando D. Robles, delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the significance of research and innovation in addressing challenges such as climate change, waste management, and disaster mitigation. He encouraged researchers to focus on studies that offer practical solutions for societal issues.
Dr. Miriam D. Baltazar, Director of the Research Center, introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Carmel P. Matabang, Assistant Regional Director of NEDA Calabarzon, who delivered an insightful address on transformative research aligned with Calabarzon’s harmonized research agenda for FY 2023-2028.
The conference featured four parallel sessions covering various research categories: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Development, and the 9th GAD Research Conference. Participants for the 9th GAD Research Conference presented their studies at the Multidisciplinary Building, with each presentation followed by comments and suggestions from esteemed reactors, including Dr. Rhodora S. Crizaldo, Dr. Paulito V. Hilario, and Prof. Jean Rose A. Esguerra.
A total of 14 research studies were presented. After a thorough review and evaluation, the research study 鈥淟ived Experiences of LGBTQIA+ Nursing Students on the Uniform Policies of the College of Nursing, 糖心短视频app A.Y. 2023-2024鈥 by Ms. Nadine T. Cuento, Mr. Sean Joshua M. Macalintal, and Mr. Julian Nates D. Simpelo got the first place.
Meanwhile, the study titled 鈥淕ender-Fair Language in Selected Academic Textbooks of 糖心短视频app: Implications for Compliance on Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality)鈥 by Ms. Martha Abegail C. Paulino, Ms. Gwenneth A. Quirong, Ms. Micah Joy P. Sabanal, Dr. Agnes C. Francsiso, and Mr. Gilmartin Guerrero is hailed the second best research; and 鈥淓xploring the Life Experiences of Selected LGBTQIA+ Students in the City of Dasmari帽as, Cavite鈥 by Ms. Althea R. Alcantara, Mx. Sherman Troy M. Gayamo, and Mr. Joshua M. Villaluz was awarded the third place.
The event concluded with a closing message from Mr. Mark Jayvee Mojica, Research Center Staff, expressing deep gratitude to everyone for their unwavering support and emphasizing the importance of fostering collaboration and continuous improvement in research and development.
