In connection with the proposed extension program of the University鈥檚 Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC) dubbed as 鈥淜Abalikat sa SAnayan at LIngap sa mga TAong nasa laylaYan ng lipunan tungo sa paglagO鈥 (KASALI TAYO), another consultative meeting was conducted on 19 January 2023, via Zoom Video conferencing.

City and Municipal Social Welfare and Development (C/MSWD) Officers of Cavite City and Noveleta, Ms. Rowena Andrande and Ms. Jinky O. Sidocon along with the proponents of the different programs attended the said meeting wherein Dr. Susan G. Tan, Director of the GADRC, discussed the KASALI TAYO Extension Program describing it as a collaborative and multisectoral effort that will focus on capacitating the marginalized sectors (people with disabilities, senior citizens, LGBTQIA+ people, and single parents).

She also added that the said extension program is a result of research which displayed the 鈥榤arginalized sectors鈥 are the ones often left behind in terms of disaster risk reduction and management plans and mentioned the consultative meeting conducted with the representatives of the marginalized sector, PDRRMO, PPDAO, and PSWDO to substantiate the results of the research.

In addition, Director Tan said that Training Needs Assessment (TNA) and Community Needs Assessment (CNA) were also carried out in which additional needs that needed to be addressed such as livelihood, education, and health were identified by the thorough study of the assessments鈥 results.
She further stated that the CvSU colleges and campuses that specialize in the said needs will address them and highlighted that the focus of the consultative meeting was to link the project proponents and C/MSWDOs to the information and data or statistics required by the program or project leaders.
