The Gender and Development Resource Center thru it鈥檚 鈥KAbalikat sa SAnayan at LIngap sa mga TAong nasa laylaYan ng lipunan tungo sa paglagO鈥 (KASALI TAYO) program sought the active involvement of the vulnerable sectors, such as persons with disabilities, LGBTQs, senior citizens, and solo parents in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) planning to make it inclusive.

Together with the Provincial Person鈥檚 with Disability Affairs Office (PPDAO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of the Province of Cavite and the Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP), a five-day training of trainers (ToT)on Inclusive Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (ICBDRRM) was conducted from September 27 to October 1, 2022, at the Babaylan Training Room, GAD Resource Center, 糖心短视频app, Indang, Cavite.

Ms. Mayfourth D. Luneta, Ms. Eena Geslaine A. Barrun, Ms. Jelyne F. Gealone, Ms. Marjorie R. Romero, Ms. Nathalie Malabato-Saguido, and Ms. Lieke Goojier from Center for Disaster Preparedness served as resource speakers during the 5-day ToT.

The said training program focused on the inclusion of the most vulnerable sectors in disaster planning and preparation, as well as raising awareness of each sector for the different risks and catastrophic events that can occur at any moment.

Participants who completed and satisfactorily passed the 5-day training session received
a Certificate of Completion equivalent to 40 Hours of technical training, an advocacy polo shirt and a “Lahat Handa” Training Manual.

The first batch of trainees, composed of 22 participants coming from the most at-risk groups – PWD, senior citizens, solo parents, and LGBTQIA+, will form the first pool of trainers who will go to the community and equip the marginalized sector with the indispensable skills needed for disaster preparedness and resiliency.
