The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (BA Journalism) program of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is now a certified Level IV Re-accredited undergraduate program by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.
The program underwent scrutiny by the assessors from AACCUP through a virtual survey visit held on May 4 to 6, 2022, and granted certification of being a Level IV program effective May 16, 2022 to May 15, 2027. The University now has three Level IV programs – Bachelor of Science in Agriculture of the College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources; Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, both under CAS.
As stated in the AACCUP Accreditation Manual, 鈥淟evel IV re-accredited status is awarded to programs which are highly respected as very high-quality academic programs in the Philippines and with prestige and authority comparable to similar programs in excellent foreign universities.鈥
Meanwhile, four (4) other undergraduate programs were also reviewed by AACCUP accreditors alongside BA Journ during the same period. The Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programs were granted Level III Re-accredited status; while the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering were given Level II Re-accredited certification.
On the other hand, the Doctor for Philosophy in Management, a graduate program of the College of Economics, Management and Development Studies, and the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English program of Gen. Trias Campus were likewise subjected to an accreditation visit by AACCUP on June 13 to 17, 2022, and were granted candidate status from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2024.
