The Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC) held a consultative meeting and Training Needs Assessment (TNA) with its partner agencies in Cavite on June 14 and 23, 2022. The purpose of the meeting is to showcase the GADRC鈥檚 services to promote women鈥檚 empowerment, gender equality and equity, and strengthen the linkages with them.
On June 14, Ms. Kimberly A. Bustamante, Training Coordinator, GADRC, visited various agencies in the province namely Barangay Lallana and Barangay Inocencio in Trece Martires City, Provincial Government – Cavite Office of Public and Safety (PG-COPS), and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and Barangay Kayquit III in Indang Cavite. Ms. Teresita M. Siapco, Councilor of Barangay Lallana, Trece Martires City, assisted her throughout her visit on behalf of their barangay captain. Ms. Siapco requested to schedule another meeting to discussed further the services of the GADRC together with their barangay captain and other barangay officials. Ms. Siapco provided Ms. Bustamante contact information where she can communicate with regards to the schedule of the meeting. Ms. Claudette Trixia M. Flores, Public Relations Officer, PG-COPS, told Ms. Bustamante that they will first discuss the GADRC collaboration with their head and will inform her on the updates with regards to the partnership. Mr. Reymar M. Basahan, Barangay Secretary of Brgy. Inocencio, Trece Martires City expressed his appreciation for the partnership. He mentioned that they will be having a meeting on June 23, 2022 and requested Ms. Bustamante to conduct a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) on the said date in order to assess their needs and expectations. Ms. Brendalyn L. Salazar, Head, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Indang Cavite expressed her interest in extending the partnership with GADRC.
On June 23, Ms. Kimberly A. Bustamante, Training Coordinator and Mr. Gian Carlo R. Sison, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant of the GADRC facilitated the simultaneous filling up of the training needs assessment of the barangay officials. The barangay officials expressed their willingness to collaborate with the GADRC as they shared their views and opinions about what they want to learn, their needs, and their expectations. They are also interested on topics on Republic Act 7192: Women in Development and Nation Building Act and Republic Act 8174: General Appropriations Act of 1996. (KABustamante)
