Historical Background

  • On June 2005, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program was first offered under the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR) through Board Resolution No. 31 Series of 2005.
  • On November 10, 2010, the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ) was created offering B.S. in Criminology program with three (3) pioneering graduates produced.
  • On February 14, 2011, CHED Government Recognition No. 011 Series of 2011 was granted to ÌÇÐĶÌÊÓƵapp to conduct and operate the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program in accordance with the pertinent provision of Republic Act No. 7722, otherwise known as the Higher Education Act of 1994, and by virtue of Resolution No. 153-2000, Series of 2000 of the Commission en banc.
  • On April 18, 2013, the college was granted Government permit No. 15 Series of 2013 to offer Bachelor of Science in Industrial Security Administration (ISA).
  • On June 2013 to June 2017, the College offered B.S. in Criminology program at CvSU-Bacoor Campus as a Learning Resource Center.
  • In terms of leadership, the first designated dean was Dr. Myleen S. Legaspi (November 2010-May 2012) followed by Rev. Darius Campos (June 2012-October 2012) and Dr. Susan G. Tan (November 2012-October 2016). Dr. Famela Iza Cabe-Matic is currently the Dean of the College.

  • It has been a potential unit since it continuously produces 100% passing rate in the Criminologists Licensure Examination.
  • It has been awarded as number one (1) in the entire Region IV by the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines Inc. (PCAP) for two consecutive years (2016 and 2017).
  • It was also one of the Top Performing Schools in the country during the 2017 Criminologist Licensure Examination conferred by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – Board of Criminology.
  • It strives to bring pride and honor to the University by realigning its thrusts and programs that reflectively produces valuable individuals back to the community. With integrity, excellence and discipline as its tenets, it continually seeks development through the guidance and support of the University and the service community as a whole.

  1. produce morally upright and globally competitive individuals in the areas of law enforcement, scientific crime detection and investigation, crime prevention, correctional administration, industrial security and its administration, criminological theory, research and analytical methods;
  2. conduct relevant and gender-responsive research and development activities that contribute to the theory and practice of criminal justice in the country;
  3. extend services to target clientele and be a partner of government and non-government entities for countryside development; and
  4. establish strong linkages with local, national and international community to enhance the existing resources and services of the College.

  1. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINOLOGY

The field of criminology is the study of crime which includes the making of laws, the breaking of laws and the reaction towards law breaking. It also includes study of the various agencies of justice. It is therefore the mission of the Criminology program to provide the community with professionally competent and morally upright graduates who can deliver efficient  and effective services in crime prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, custody and rehabilitation of offenders, criminological research, public safety and security, among others.

Program Educational Objectives

The program aims to:

  1. encourage research and inquiry on the nature, causes, treatment or punishment of criminal behavior and how criminal justice agencies function and respond to crime, criminals and victims;
  2. prepare the students for careers in crime prevention, law enforcement, scientific crime detection, correctional administration, public safety and allied fields; and
  3. foster the values of leadership , integrity, honesty, accountability, responsibility, with the ability to demonstrate human relations and respect for human rights while serving their fellowmen, community and country.

A graduate of B.S. in Criminology is prepared for careers in the following fields, among others:

Program Outcomes

Generally, graduates of the BS Criminology program equipped with relevant knowledge, skills, attitude and values shall be able to:

  1. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims and offenders to include deviant behavior;
  2. internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare;
  3. demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement administration, public safety and criminal justice;
  4. utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
  5. aook the principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and criminal procedure;
  6. ensure offenders’ rehabilitation, welfare, development and re-integration to the community.

More so, a graduate of B.S. Criminology needs to pass the Criminologists Licensure Examination in order to practice as a criminologist in the Philippines.   1. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (BSISA)

This program involves the study and application of the principles of security. It prepares its graduates to assume supervisory roles. It involves the study of the applicable interventions that confronts all types of human conditions and endeavors. It also includes the study and practice of the means of protecting resources from loss or damage.

Program Educational Objectives

This program aims to:

  1. provide the students with a strong foundation on fundamental theories of industrial security and its administration;
  2. provide the students with a comprehensive knowledge of the diverse issues and concerns affecting security in the industrial setting;
  3. develop the students’ skills and competencies in the design of basic security systems and their operations and functions such as but not limited to corporate and organizational security, internal office security, information technology systems security, physical security, business and commercial security, executive protection, intelligence and investigations as well as security for vital infrastructures such as but not limited to seaports, airports and the likes;
  4. develop the students’ ability to prepare programs for best approaches and practical applications of these fundamental theories and concerns;
  5. produce graduates that would be best suited for professional careers in industrial security administration and the practice of security profession; and
  6. to make the Philippine higher education and the security industry in particular at par with current international trends and responsive to the demands of globalization.

  • Original and photocopy of Honorable Dismissal or Transfer Credentials
  • Original and photocopy of Certification of Good Moral Character
  • Original and photocopy of NBI Clearance
  • Two (2) 1×1 ID Picture
